5 Best Colleges in NCR Which Offer Admission through UPSEE (AKTU)
 
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is a public collegiate university located in Lucknow. It was established as Uttar Pradesh Technical University on May 8, 2000. However, on September 18, 2015, it was officially renamed as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University.

The university has as many as 800 colleges affiliated to it. That makes it one of the largest technical universities, not just in India, but also in Asia.

AKTU is sub-divided into five zones due to its size, the number of colleges affiliated to it and its geographic distribution.

There are 150–160 colleges in each zone for comfortable management and to facilitate inter-zonal comparison. It also creates possibilities for internal competition that augments the quality of teaching-learning processes.

The university offers undergraduate courses in engineering, architecture, hotel management and catering technology, fashion and apparel design, and pharmacy respectively, and postgraduate courses in computer applications and business administration.

AKTU envisages to facilitate and develop the quality of technical education and research in its own premises as well as in all its affiliated institutions, and create entrepreneurship and a conducive environment for pursuit of the technical education in close co-operation with industries. Further, as a very distinctive attribute, the university aims to create provisions for promotion of technical education among educationally backward communities and classes.

The university doesn’t just focus on theoritical education, but stresses on knowledge creation through a well-planned research program in emerging areas. Students undertake issues and problems from the industry which imparts in them the practical understanding of the subject matter.

The university emphasizes on the overall development of personality of its students with both professional and emotional maturity to cope up with the challenges in their profession and contribute for the development of the society as a whole.

UPSEE- for Admission in AKTU Affiliated Colleges

AKTU Conducts state-level Entrance Examination UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam) for admission to various programs offered by colleges affiliated to AKTU. The university is also responsible to conduct central examination every semester for all the affiliated colleges and institutions. Around 4,00,000 students get enrolled in its various programs each academic year.
UPSEE facilitates admissions in B.Tech. and other undergraduate courses such as BHMCT, B.Arch, B.Pharma, BFAD and post-graduate courses such as MBA, MCA, offered by different institutions in the state.

AKTUreceived more than 1,69,170 applications for UPSEE 2017. Students who appear for UPSEE have an array of colleges to choose from to pursue the course of their choice.

Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwera Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE), Noida

JSSATE was inaugurated in 1998 by former president of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. It is a privately owned university, affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. The colleges is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

JSSATE offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree courses in various disciplines. Admissions in B.Tech is made through UPSEE and in M.tech courses through UPSEE counselling conducted by AKTU.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech- 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 45%;
M.Tech- 55% or equivalent CGPA in the relevant qualifying degree
Computer Science and Engineering- B.E./B.Tech in CSE, IT or MCA
VLSI Design-B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering


Krishna Engineering College (KEC), Ghaziabad

KEC was established in 2004 by Friends Charitable Society. It is a private university, affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (AKTU).

IPEC offers B.Tech and M.Tech courses in various disciplines. It accepts UPSEE scorecard for admission into B.Tech course.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech- 10+2 with Physics. Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational M.Tech- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in the relevant field as per the guidelines by UP State Government and UP Technical University.

IMS Engineering College (IMSEC), Ghaziabad

IMSEC is an engineering and management college. It is located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. IMSEC is affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University. It is ranked 3rd among the top private engineering college in UP and 4th in UP by CSR-GHRDC Engineering College Survey 2016.

IMSEC offers B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA courses in various disciplines. The admission is offered on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate in UPSEE. Some seats are also available for direct admission.

IEC College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida

IEC College of Engineering was established in 1999 and offers various specializations in Technical courses. IEC-CET is affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University and Dr. APJ Abdul Kamal University and recognized by AICTE, PCI.

IEC-CET offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and MBA courses in various specializations. Students get admission in B.Tech, MBA and MCA courses based on their UPSEE scorecard.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science with Minimum 50% and the candidate must be UPSEE/AIEEE qualified.

M.Tech.- Minimum 60% at B.Tech Level.

MBA- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with 50% marks, or should be UPSEE/CAT/MAT qualified.

MCA- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university with 50% (Mathematics in 10+2 is compulsory), or, the candidate must be UPSEE qualified.

Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), Greater Noida

NIET was established in 2001. It is one of the best private Engineering colleges in India. It is ranked 99th out of 100 best engineering colleges in India. NIET is affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University and recognized by AICTE and MHRD.

NIET offers admissions in B.Tech and M.tech, MBA and MCA courses in various disciplines. UPSEE scorecard is accepted for admission into B.Tech, MBA and MCA programs.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biology/Bio-Technology/Computer Science with minimum 50%, or, the candidate must be UPSEE or JEE Main qualified.

M.Tech- Minimum 60% marks at B.Tech level.

MBA- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50%, or, the candidate must have qualified UPSEE/CAT/MAT.

MCA-Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% (with mathematics in 10+2 as a compulsory subject), or, the candidate must be UPSEE qualified.
