CBI busy, wont take up custodial death case

(Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 13, 2018, DG): The CBI has expressed its inability to take up the case pertaining to the custodial death of Sreejiv, a native of Neyyattinkara.

CBI has written a letter turning down the state government's demand in this regard. The state govt had written to the CBI in last December.

According to the investigative agency, it is already busy looking into several cases related to the government and high court and the new case would add up to the burden.

Sreejith, brother of Sreejiv is currently on an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Secretariat demanding an investigation into the matter. The strike is garnering widespread support on social media platforms.
